Hi there — I’m Alix, the second-generation owner of Goodwoods British Market.

Our story began over 34 years ago in the charming little town of Old Town Spring, Texas, when my mother and father opened a small British shop with just $500, a handful of products, and a dream to bring a taste of home to those who missed it most.

As a British expat, my father knew firsthand what it felt like to be far from the flavours, traditions, and comforts of home. So he set out to create a place where fellow Brits, expats, travelers, and curious locals could find all the little things that made them feel connected to the UK — from proper sausages and biscuits to jars of Marmite and tins of beans.

I grew up in that shop — watching them work late nights, chatting with customers who quickly became friends, and learning that a business built on love, laughter, and loyalty could be something truly special.

Today, I’m proud to carry that legacy forward. We’ve expanded from a tiny storefront in Old Town Spring to two brick-and-mortar locations and a thriving online store that now ships nationwide. We’ve packed over 100,000 online orders, won the Best Family-Owned Business award from the Houston Business Journal, and welcomed thousands of customers who have become part of the Goodwoods family.

But at our core, nothing has changed. We’re still family-run. We still pack every order with care. And we still believe that a good cup of tea, a warm pie, or a packet of crisps can bring comfort, connection, and a whole lot of joy.

We’re here for the big moments and the everyday ones — the Sunday roasts, the birthday surprises, the Christmas crackers, and the homesick students away at uni. Every item we send out carries a bit of home with it.
