Cadbury is known to experiment with different flavours to create new chocolates. While there are many types of chocolates from Cadbury that are famous and popular, the Cadbury Oreo Bar has a special place in the hearts of chocolate lovers.
Although the company has been making Oreo biscuits for many decades, the Cadbury chocolate bar and Oreo biscuits were brought together to create a unique chocolate. Thus, the Cadbury Oreo Bar was released in 2012.
What is the Cadbury Oreo Bar?
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo chocolate is creamy and made from soft vanilla flavour filling and crunchy pieces of Oreo biscuits. The company claims to have used sustainably sourced cocoa to make these chocolate bars. A bite of this chocolate is like tasting the best of two worlds – Cadbury chocolate and Oreo biscuit.
About Cadbury
Cadbury was earlier known as Cadbury's and Cadbury Schweppes. The confectionary company is owned by Mondelez International, which was earlier Kraft Foods. The company is currently headquartered in Greater London and has a presence across more than 50 countries.
The company was founded by John Cadbury, who originally sold tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate. Although he had been in business since 1824, the company introduced its first bar in 1849. Cadbury soon obtained a royal warrant from Queen Victoria as a manufacturer of cocoa and chocolate. Since then, the company has changed many hands but is now owned by Mondelez International.

Did You Know?
The food industry was one of the numerous businesses affected by World War II. This war also had an impact on Cadbury. There was sometimes a shortage of supplies and fresh food during the war. This prompted governments to start limiting supplies and enact regulations pertaining to specific highly sought-after food commodities. The UK imposed limits on milk as part of its rationing efforts, including prohibiting food producers like Cadbury from utilizing fresh milk in their production. This affected Cadbury because some of their chocolate products were made with fresh milk.
Without milk, Cadbury could not produce its iconic Dairy Milk chocolate, so they had to come up with something new. This led to the creation of Ration Chocolate – a chocolate that was made without fresh milk. Dried milk powder was used in place of milk in the recipe. Although it couldn't compete with the smooth feel of a Dairy Milk bar, this new chocolate bar worked well as a substitute during the war situation.
Cadbury – An Inspiration
Even though you may have read the book or watched the movies, you may not be aware that Cadbury is the inspiration for the famous book and then the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Novelist Roald Dahl was the pioneer of it all. Dahl went to a school where students received free Cadbury chocolate samples – he was 13 at that time. Dahl was able to sample Cadbury chocolate while attending school. These sweets were given to the students so they could sample them and let the corporation know what they thought. Dahl was struck with visions of the interior of a fantastic chocolate factory after tasting these chocolates. The thought of adult men pursuing a profession in confectionery piqued his interest.
Cadbury Oreo bars are a delicious treat that people of all ages enjoy.
