Spreads are delicious food products that can be both sweet and savoury. They are made from different ingredients and can be used with so many food items. Spreads can be jams, jellies, butter, hummus, cheese spreads, or chocolate spreads.
Considering the love for chocolates, Cadbury came up with the idea to give something new to the people and thus created – Cadbury Spread. They launched Cadbury Spread in 2012 and since then it has been one of the favourites among the people of not just UK but also across the world.
Cadbury Spread – A Small History
The history of Cadbury goes back to 1824 when John Cadbury opened a small grocer's shop in Birmingham, England. Initially he sold tea, coffee and drinking chocolate but soon he shifted its focus to chocolate production. Soon they became one of the world's leading confectionery companies.
In 2012, building on its legacy of chocolate excellence, Cadbury introduced Cadbury Spread, a delicious twist on the traditional chocolate spread. The idea for Cadbury Spread originated from the surplus Marmite. This surplus Marmite was used to coat baked snacks, inspiring the development of Twiglets, a crunchy wheat-based snack infused with Marmite seasoning. With the success of Twiglets, Cadbury saw an opportunity to create a unique chocolate spread using a similar concept of coating snacks with some interesting flavour. Thus, Cadbury Spread was created, offering consumers a spreadable treat with the irresistible taste of Cadbury chocolate.
Ingredients of Cadbury Spread
Some important ingredients of Cadbury Spread include:
Cocoa Powder – The main component of chocolate spreads that gives Cadbury its rich and delicious chocolate flavour is cocoa powder. To give the spread more depth and richness, roasted cocoa beans are crushed into fine powder, which is used to create the spread.
Sugar—Sugar is used to sweeten the spread. It helps to balance the bitterness of the cocoa powder and enhance its overall flavour. It brings sweetness and helps create a smooth and creamy touch.
Vegetable Oil – In order to achieve a smooth and spreadable consistency, vegetable oil is added to the spread. It helps to bind the ingredients together and ensures that the spread is easy to spread onto bread, crackers, or other snacks.
Milk Solids – Milk solids are included to provide a creamy and luxurious feel to the spread. They contribute to the smooth texture and add richness to the flavour, enhancing the overall indulgence of the spread.
Cadbury Spread is a blend of premium ingredients that contribute to its delicious flavour and creamy consistency.
